First Asher, then mommy & now daddy....

It NEVER ends. Our house is always sick now!! :( I know it's all of the icky germs that Ash brings home from daycare and I hate it!! We are really good about washing our hands, toys, paci's & using sanitizer but it seems like it always comes right back. Asher is just now getting back to normal again after being on breathing treatments again for another week. Then I got an icky cold and now Mike is currently sprawled on the couch watching Chopped Champions and looks & feels miserable. Poor babe!!! Anyhow...hopefully we can beat it once again! I've never been sick this much in my life!! I used to always used to never use my 'sick' days so my manager let me use them as vacation days at the end of the year...but I think that idea is sadly gone....

Other than being sick, we have been staying busy. Church, football, park, walks, family, friends...lots of stuff going on. I can't wait for the weather to get cool again!! We were teased for a few days a couple of weeks ago and tomorrow it's supposed to drop 15 degrees!! Down to 85...yipeee!!

I can't believe Asher is days away from being NINE months old!!! NUTS! He's getting so big. He weighs 22.1lbs according to his last doc appt. He's wearing 12mo & some 12-18mo clothes. We have to put gel in his hair to keep it down because it's so fine and wispy, he is climbing up on EVERYTHING and is crawling EVERYwhere!! His little knees are red when we get him from daycare each day because he loves to crawl around all day. He loves when we read him books and cracks up when he stands in front of the couch and bangs his hands on it like he's playing the drums. He's drinking 4 bottles; usually at 7:30a, 10:30a, 1:30p & 4:30p. He also eats oatmeal with his lunch bottle and then at dinner he'll have some kind of veggie/fruit combo or smoothie. We've recently introduced snacks too...usually it's 'puffs' that dissolve in his mouth, more or less. He still seems to gag on small foods so I'm nervous about any other foods. I've given him a few tastes of table food [baked potato, bread, etc.] here & there but I still get nervous. He now has FIVE teeth and more on the way. He's a teethin-machine!! His bedtime is usually around 7:30p and he gets at 7:15a...like clock-work. Mike gets him ready and takes him to daycare and I pick him up in the afternoon each day. Mike is SUCH an amazing daddy...a million times more awesome than I thought [and I had pretty HIGH expectations!! ;)] Asher is such a happy baby. We thank God for him everyday. Now on to my photo-dump.....

Yoga in the Pines

My super sweet across-the-street-neighbor, Timarie, is a certified yoga instructor and actually has a big yoga studio in her house. She teaches class every Monday & Wednesday. A bunch of the neighborhood girls attend regularly. I tried it out a couple of years ago and I left her house drenched in sweat. It was SUCH a hard workout. I never realized that yoga was so intense!!! Well...I never went back. LOL!!! The girls joke about it all the time and have tried um-teen times to get me to go back to no avail.
Well a couple of months ago they invited me to a yoga & WINE weekend...girls only. All you can drink WINE...I couldn't pass it up!!!!
I'm SO glad that I went. It was absolutely, without a doubt, AMAZING!! Definitely one of the most relaxing weekends I've ever had! We drove out to Mineola, TX [1.5 hours away] and it was gorgeous!!! Amazing, huge, green pine trees surrounded 2 log cottages that the 10 of us stayed in. It was a weekend retreat that was all-inclusive. Theresa was the host and owner of the homes and she was WONDERFUL! Throughout the weekend she instructed 4 yoga classes, cooked all of our meals [delicious & healthy], and served us all the wine we wanted. She was such a great host!!! The yoga wasn't as bad as I thought...I was able to modify to my beginning level. :) While we were there we went on a hike through the pines, I fell asleep in the hammock, got a 1 hour massage, meditated, went antique shopping in downtown Mineola. It was UH-maaazing BUUUUUT I sure missed my boys at home. THis was my 1st weekend away from Asher. With the very little cell service I had, I was able to receive pictures/texts that Mike sent me to keep me updated on their days. It was sweet. They watched lots of football and when I came home on Sunday afternoon they were both still in their jammies. Sounds like they had a great & relaxing weekend too!!! I, seriously, can't WAIT to go back next year [we decided to make this a yearly event!!]!

It's been a MONTH since I've blogged!?!?!

Ahhh, so busy. No time to blog. Whew. I can't even remember what I did yesterday...but I'll upload some recent pics that might spark up my memory while I caption them. :)

Ahhhh...Vacation!

Last week my dad & stepmom came in from Nebraska and stayed with us from Sunday--Thursday. We had so much fun! Sunday was my dad's birthday. They have lots of friends in town so I decided to throw a surprise birthday party at my house when he arrived. It was a success and lots of fun!! We kept Asher home a few days during the week and had fun doing things around town. Tuesday we went to tour the Cowboys Stadium. We had a VIP guided tour. It was very informative and fun too!! Wednesday night we went to see AMERICAN IDOL Tour in concert! LOVEEEED it! They were SO great. Love me some Scotty!!!! After my parents left on Friday, I took Asher to daycare and had the day to myself! It was pretty much AMAZING! Delicious breakfast, mani/pedi, movie (Friends with Benefits...SOOO GOOD) and a massage THEN had dinner and wine with some girlfriends! It was a great topper to the wonderful week off work!!!

This weekend we took our coffee table out of the living room since that is where our family tends to hang out. It was taking up too much space and now that Asher is on the 'roll' everywhere, he needed more space. I bought these super handy puzzle mats that are great and super easy to clean up (spit-up!)! :) He loves his new space and his new colorful mats!! BTW...he's a pro at sitting. He's so content just sitting and playing with his toys! Love it!

Lately...

We had Asher's 6 month photo shoot this week. We went to Harry Myers Park in Rockwall and it was just about 105 degrees outside! Our session started at 5:30p so giving the facts that he is usually super tired after a long day at daycare...Asher was a TROOPER!!! He did great and gave lots of smiles! I can't wait to see all of the pics!! Here are the 2 sneak peeks that the photog gave me. So far so good...

Asher is rolling ALL over the place! So fun! He now usually sleeps on his tummy. Mike was so scared at first and would turn him to his back each time he would roll over. But now the second you turn him back over...he is already rolling back to his tummy. We talked to his pedi at his 6 month apt and he said he'll be fine now that he can lift his head, etc. Speaking of his 6 month apt...I'll have to post those stats soon. But he is 100% over the cough and gunk that he had. No more breathing treatments or meds! Whew...so glad we're over that!

Yesterday Mike & I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. We decided to get the iPhone 4 upgrades as our gifts to each other. I can't wait to get mine in the mail!!! (I still have the 3G...not even 3GS, so I can't wait to get video on my phone!) Anyway, we had a great time celebrating our 5 wonderful years of marriage! Here's a few pics from our wedding night...
