13w2d!!!

Today was exciting since we got to the our sweet baby again!!! I'm so amazed every time I see the baby in action...rolling around, sucking his/her thumb, waving arms & feet!!! Today was the genetic/chromosome tests. The sono lady said the back of the neck measured perfectly. They also took blood as standard procedure to research further...but the doc said everything looks wonderful to him!!! YAY! I'm starting to feel a bit better too. My appetite is still altered but I'm still eating and keeping everything down! Whew! I'm done with my first trimester so I'm really hoping to get some of my energy back soon!!!

My next appointment is a month from now. That seems so far away...BUT that is the day where we will find out the sex of the baby. Well...let me rephrase....that is the day we COULD find out the sex of the baby. Here's the deal...

Basically at our appointment we'll tell the Sono lady to write down 'boy/girl' on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. Without knowing the answer we'll take the paper to a baker and have them make a cake with pink or blue cake--depending on the answer, of course. The cake will be covered in white icing in order to keep the secret until Mike & I 'cut the cake' at the Reveal Gathering in front of family/friends that my mom is hosting. I thought it was a super cute idea when I heard about it--so we are going to go for it! I have ants in my pants already, I can't wait!!

Sucking his/her thumb! (Takes after me already??? I was a thumb sucker during my early years!)

11 weeks!!! Happy 4th of July!!

I went to the doc yesterday! I was super nervous for my appointment, I barely got any sleep the night before and didn't get any work done in the morning at work. Blah! The 45 minute wait in the waiting room didn't help once I got there either! Finally they called us in and we were able to hear the sweet heartbeat and see the bundle of joy again!!! The little guy/gal is growing so much, it's almost unreal. We can actually see the head, nose, hands, feet...etc. We briefly spoke with the doc and he confirmed that everything is 100% on track and looks great! YAY!!! So far, so wonderful! A load of stress came off of my shoulders once we left. The doc also said that my due date has changed?!? Really?? I didn't realize they would be able to tell after just a few weeks from when they told me the 1st time. Anyhow, I guess the baby is measuring at 11w 4d and now the due date is Jan 18 (4 days earlier that from the 1st guess). I'll stick with the initial date on my tracker...it's just easier that way! :) On with the pics....so crazy how you can really see all of the details and it's still so early in the pregnancy!

Last weekend Mike & I drove up to Oklahoma City for my step-grandmothers 80th birthday!! It was great to see my stepmom & dad from Nebraska and tons of other family, too! All of Neno's daughters and granddaughters surprised her with a limo that picked us up, took us for lunch & tea and then to get mani's/pedi's. She was in s.h.o.c.k!!! She didn't expect to see anybody from out of town and there were a ton of us that were able to make it...from many states! She loved every minute of it! We all wore pink boas and fun hats! It was a great weekend!

Neno---80 years young!!!

me & my step-sister, Kinsey

Daughters & G-Daughters (missing a few) & Neno

This weekend is pretty low-key. We didn't make any plans for the 4th other than the parade thing we are having in our neighborhood. I'm on the social committee...so I'll be helping running the show. We are hoping the rain will hold off tomorrow. The parade will be in the morning for the kids and pets and golf carts from there we'll go to the clubhouse and have water slides, bounce houses, a petting zoo, swimming, DJ, hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, cotton candy.....basically lots of fun for the rest of the day. Don't worry...I'm bringing water and crackers with me so I don't pass out or get dehydrated. :) Anyway, that's all for now. Oh, Church was great tonight, just reminded me what an amazing God I serve!!! Hope you have a happy 4th & a relaxing day off work on Monday...I sure plan on it!!!

Tuesday night Mike came home with a beautiful bouquet of 24 pink tulips just for MEEEEE!!! and ....just because. I love my husband! He's the BEST!! He has been super supportive during these last couple months!! Since I've been super tired and going to bed super early he is on-top of dinner, laundry, dishes, grocery shopping...everything!! I can't tell you enough how much I can't wait to get my energy back! But these flowers sure make me smile!!!

On the next exciting note...my sister, Jodi, announced to me yesterday that she is PREGNANT!! Are you kidding me?!? This will be her 4th child...and she's only 30!!! She is BRAVE if you ask me!!! She's not telling many people yet, but since yall don't know her (except Casey...shhhh!), I don't expect it to leak! :)

Also, my sister-in-law is preggo with her 2nd bambino!!! So...here's the breakdown...I'm due in January, SIL is due in February and my sister is due in March!!! WOWzers! The grandparents sure will be busy busy!!

Happy Belated Fathers Day!!!

Yesterday we kinda of celebrated Fathers Day. I think next year will be MUCH more special, but I thought it'd be cute to get a Mike a card and a small gift. So that's what I did and it was perfect. We are so thankful to for this gift and it's crazy to think of us a PARENTS!! EEEE!!
We did celebrate F-day with Mike's dad & my step-dad. We had dinner with one and lunch with the other. Food was delish & family is always fun!

Ooohh...I got some great pressies this weekend too!! My MIL gave us a 'Sleep Sheep'. It's really cute and apparently it makes 'white noise' sounds and is perfect for the baby to fall asleep to?!? I'm not sure too much about this white noise but I've read about it in a few friends blogs. We'll see. I'm very thankful for the gift but I'm sure I'll appreciate it much more down the road!! My mom also bought me my first preggo shirt!! Don't worry...I'm not wearing it yet, but it's cute and says ''Good things happen to those who mate!!!" LOL! Cute but I don't think I'll be wearing that to church! Haha!!
My work (also preggo) friend gave me a box of delicious pregnancy teas and a pregnancy journal thingy that is super cute. I'm now able to document lots of mile-stones during the pregnancy, write all about how I feel, display pictures, etc. Thanks Laura!! :o)

I'm still SUPER tired pretty much all day long. Everybody keeps saying it'll go away soon. All I can think about is sleeeeep!!! My nausea medicine has been helping A LOT! I tried on the weekend to wait & see how long I could last w/out the meds...and lets just say it didn't last long.

Foods I REALLLLY like during my pregnancy:
popsicles
popcorn
watermelon
baked lays dipped in mustard
ham sandwich
strawberries

Foods I really can't stand (that I used to love):
coffee
salmon/fish
eggs

Well here I go again....to BED...with The Bachelorette on until I fall asleep. :)

i. need. more. sleep.

Good Grief!!! I THOUGHT I knew what tired was before I became pregnant...but BOY, was I wrong!! All I want to do is sleeeeeeep. I've been going to bed around 8:30 or 9pm each night!! I literally feel like sleeping at my desk everyday when I'm at work. I can't wait to get my energy back again!!

On another note, I revealed our secret to my work today. I had already told my friends but today I told my BOSS. I wasn't planning on telling him so soon but there was some work drama and I got nervous for some reason...so I spilled my guts. Oh well...it's over with now. Kinda funny because in the past 2 years I'll be the 5th preggo person to rotate through my office! Crazy! So, my boss wasn't TOO surprised. He said he figured it was just a matter of time and congratulated me. :o)

I'm still researching lots of pregnancy stuff, reading books, and even checking out iPhone pregnancy apps (they don't lie when they say 'there's an app for EVERYthing'!!). I'm learning new things everyday! The development of a human is seriously a miracle. I'm SO in AWE of our awesome Lord and I thank him everyday for what he provides.

Off to sleep now......duh. :o)
